Spring Brings Home Projects and…A Tipsy Tea Party

Time is flying and I can’t believe we are getting near the end of Spring. I took a lot of this Spring season to reset and recharge after a busy first few months. Apart of “my recharge” has been continuing to put life and creativity into my home. For the most part, our home is decorated through and through but I know there are some areas that I still want to add more jazz to. One of those areas is our previous gym/office. We initially set this room into an office during the pandemic, but now that things are changing, we are at the physical gym more and haven’t been using the space like we once were. We decided that it was time for a change and we turned the room into a guest room/my office.  The goal is for the space to be multipurpose and not just a guest room. We regularly have guests throughout the year but there are more days without guests than there are with guests so this room needed to be for our purposes the majority of the time. The room is looking so beautiful and is about 90% complete. I really feel like my Pinterest board dreams are coming alive with this space and that makes me so giddy inside. I’m sharing a sneak peek of the room in my latest, Youtube video. Check out the progress so far and let me know what you think! Full reveal to come, make sure you are subscribed so that you don’t miss out.

I also recently hosted a lovely tea party for my family and friends. I’ve been saying that I wanted to do this for a while now and kept procrastinating on actually hosting it. I’m SO glad that the idea and execution finally came to fruition.

A little backstory, my mom and I had previously scorched the earth trying to find tea cups for my 2020 bridal shower (which was canceled due to the pandemic). We had so many tea cups, plates and other accessories sitting around collecting dust and I knew I had to do something with them. I decided to go forward with having an elevated tea party with lots of swag and was inspired by the name “Tipsy Tea Party” which I previously saw on TikTok.

Believe me when I say, we had an amazing time! It was so great to see my girls all dressed up and ready for the occasion. It was a great day to celebrate life – being a woman, being a black woman and being able to channel our inner southern belle. This will forever be one of my favorite memories of 2024.
